ABOUT!!

SG Egan...

is currently a filmmaker, artist, musician and housewife living in Philadelphia. She has been, in other lives: a 10-K combing Wall St. writer; an avant-gardist gallery artist; a dirtbag Girl Friday; an American bassist starving in Scotland; and an aggressively androgynous New Yorker-approved “Dracula.” Ce n'est pas une blague.

Writing and editing professionally since 2013, her journalistic work was featured in ChelseaNow (now amNY), Vice and National Geographic, earning her two New York Press Association awards. From 2017 to 2022 she worked at market research firm IBISWorld as a data analyst specializing in the entertainment sector.

SG’s screenwriting turns her disparate life experiences into straight-faced-yet-surrealist stories of broken folks battling the existential – resulting in work as consistently confrontational as it is empathetic. Sometimes with puppets, but always with more laughs than anticipated.

SG earned an MFA in Screenwriting at the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts in 2024. Her experimental horror/comedy short SECRET MENU BEAUTY PAGEANT (co-directed/co-written with Frankie Campisano) also found her handling music, sound design, costuming and puppetry, and was funded in part by the Elon University Alumni Production fund. Currently, the short is screening on the festival circuit while SG continues to publish her comics: the all-ages strip THE WILD WORLD OF LONG-DOG & PUDD, and the absurdist single-panel THE FART SIDE.
